Shepard Fairey Response 2

Shepard Fairey Response 2

Found another response! Tried to upload it this morning but I seemed to be a little technically challenged. Not sure which one I prefer out of the two responses but I like how clear the face is in this portrait

Shepard Fairey Response

As part of my “Catastrophic Events” research I researched the work of Shepard Fairey as I thought that the propaganda style of his work linked to my initial war theme. This is my response to his work. I used Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor as well as some much needed tutorials in order to get Fairey’s spray painted layers effect. I found a picture of the US flag and used various tools in order to give it a more aged look.
Yes, the costume is a Top Gun onesie…

Hanging In There

I think I’m starting to get the hang of this blogging stuff… kind of. Anyway I thought I’d add some photography to the blog at some point as well as an analysis of artist work (don’t ask me what the plural of “analysis” is, I’m trying to keep it simple). But I thought seeing as I bought a new camera yesterday, well a second hand camera, (the pain of actually spending money is overwhelming) I’d post my first experimental photo here! I know it’s not David Bailey-esque or anything but it was my first try with shaking hands.

AMAZING fantasy portraits by fine art photographer Nicola Taylor. I would love to be able to create images like this, which is your favourite?

Achievement Unlocked

Well this is an achievement for me, I’ve actually been committed enough to update this blog a second day in a row! I’m going to have to find some more things to showcase on this blog so that it doesn’t get boring but for now I’m content in the knowledge that I haven’t forgotten to post yet!
